Service Description

Advanced Gundog Course Designed for dogs and handlers who have successfully passed the Intermediate Gundog Graduation, this course brings together the skills developed throughout your training and applies them in real-world working environments. This is where training starts to feel less like individual exercises and more like true gundog work. Working in a variety of exciting locations, you’ll learn how to apply your dog’s steadiness, handling, retrieving, and hunting skills in increasingly realistic scenarios. The focus is on building reliability, confidence, and teamwork when distractions are higher, distances are greater, and decisions matter more. Throughout the course, we’ll continue to develop advanced gundog skills, including longer blind retrieves, more challenging marked retrieves, split retrieves, advanced handling, and greater steadiness around other dogs and working situations. Whether your goal is to compete in working tests, prepare for the shooting field, or simply enjoy training at a higher level with your dog, this course provides the opportunity to put everything you’ve learned into practice. Handlers will continue refining their timing, decision-making, and understanding of how to support their dog through increasingly complex tasks, while maintaining motivation, confidence, and control. The Advanced Course is the final step in Dogitivity’s three-level gundog pathway and is open only to dogs who have successfully passed the Intermediate Gundog Graduation. Training at this level is about more than technical skill. It’s about developing a dog that can remain thoughtful under pressure, work confidently at a distance, and stay connected with their handler in exciting and challenging environments. Your enrolment also includes access to the Dogitivity Online Gundog Course, with video demonstrations, homework, and additional guidance to support your progress between classes. Spaces are limited to ensure individual coaching and feedback.
