Adolescent Dog Progression Course Adolescence can be one of the most challenging stages of dog ownership. As your dog becomes more independent, easily distracted and excitable, it can often feel like they've forgotten everything they learned as a puppy! Our 6-week Adolescent Dog Progression Course is designed to help you navigate this important stage by building reliable, real-world skills. Based on the principles of the Good Citizen Dog Scheme, we'll focus on strengthening your dog's attention and engagement, improving recall, developing impulse control, and building the confidence and manners needed for everyday life. Through positive, reward-based training, you'll learn how to work with your adolescent dog's changing brain, helping them make better choices around distractions while reinforcing calm, polite behaviour. By the end of the course, you'll have the foundations for a responsive, well-mannered dog you can enjoy taking anywhere. Please note: This course is designed for dogs who need training rather than behaviour modification. Dogs displaying significant behavioural concerns, such as aggression or reactivity towards other dogs or people, will not be suitable for a group class environment. Training needs include typical adolescent challenges such as pulling on the lead, unreliable recall, jumping up, over-excitement, or difficulty focusing. Behavioural issues involve emotional responses that affect a dog's ability to cope safely, such as growling, lunging, snapping, or persistent barking at other dogs or people. If your dog is experiencing behavioural challenges, we'd be happy to discuss more appropriate one-to-one behaviour support to help you achieve the best outcome.
